When my Dad, an MD, had his bypass back in '87, he retired to my Mom's family home in Leland, MS. He was bored, and I talked him into picking up his saxophone and clarinet again. He decided he still "had it," and he wanted to form a band. Boogaloo was local and no longer played as he was in very poor health. My Dad made a project of restoring Boogaloo's health, and he formed Doc's 3 Bs. They played all over the Delta, as regulars at Lillo's Restaurant in Leland, various Casinos, and many of the Blues Festivals throughout the region until their health failed them. Thankfully, we have scores of vhs tapes and purchased studio time for them for Christmas a few times, which left us with cd's and cassette tapes of this wonderful music. They have a display at the Blues Museum in Leland if you ever visit the area and an old faded mural of the band painted on one of the old buildings downtown.
That made me happy.

I saw some indigo buntings there that day. The other day, I noticed that I have a photo of you on this computer with Margit Bakken, Carolyn Wonderland and Rita Engedalen. I don't remember where I got the photo. I saw Margit and Rita with Kenny Brown at Sunflower River Festival years ago. I regret that I've never seen Carolyn live.
